Narkanda is famous for Skiing & Winter sports. During these days the slopes come alive with skiers. The skiing at Narkanda was started in 1980 and since then HPTDC is conducting skiing courses every year. Narkanda is a gateway to apple country of Himachal Pradesh. .

Meet on arrival at Chandigarh station/ airport and travel by surface to Narkanda via Shimla. Narkanda is a town famous for its natural beauty and skiing slopes. It is at an altitude of 2708 meters on the Hindustan – Tibet Road (NH 22). It is about 65 km from Shimla and surrounded by the Shivalik hill Ranges that span a large part of Himachal Pradesh. On arrival check-in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast, proceed to hatu peak. Hatu peak is located at an elevation of approx 3400 m and is the highest summit in Shimla/Narkanda region. The peak is surrounded by dense woods. The area has forests of fir and spruce, with a smattering of maple, aspen and cedar trees. From Narkanda the peak can be accessed by car only. At the top of the peak is a small wooden temple called Hatu temple. Afterwards proceed to Tanu Jubbar lake. The place is 12 kms from Narkanda. It is a small artificially water fed oval-shaped, shallow mass of water. It is encircled by a paved pathway, beyond which are gentle slopes covered with Blue Pine and Spruce trees. It is located in a fascinating place where one can spend some picnic time. The entire area around the lake is enclosed by a thick forest of cedar trees. During a clear sky one can see the snow covered peaks in the far distance which is enchanting. There is a small village near Tani Jubar and a school with a big open ground. The lake is famous for the ‘Nag Devta’ temple, where the locals offer prayers to the serpent God. Enjoy your packed lunch here. Return back to hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and travel to Shimla. On arrival in Shimla visit Vice regal lodge, now known as Indian institute of advance studies. The institute is housed in the erstwhile Vice regal lodge built in 1884-88. The architecture is English Renaissance with stonework of the walling in light blue limestone and the wrought stonework being done in sandstone in a stunning light gray shade. Some come, however, for a seminar at the institute of Advanced Studies, the scene of many a fun, frolic or escapade, where, too, the fate of nations was decided. Its lawns and woodland are added attractions. Afternoon free for Leisure / walk on the mall road. Evening drop at a private bus station and depart (08:30 Pm approx.) to Delhi by AC Volvo bus. Overnight journey by bus.
