We will start from Shimla and end up in ‘City of Golden Temple’ Amritsar covering in-between some of the most exotic rural charms of Himachal Pradesh including Chindi, Janjehli, Prashar, Barot, Kareri and Pragpur village. There is number of places to see and number of activities can be done at these places. Besides the tranquility and wellbeing coupled with beautiful landscapes, there you can learn a lot about culture and Himachali traditions.

In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/ unavoidable reasons we must be informed in written. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in written and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • Once the booking is confirmed   – 25% of the tour/service cost.
  • 15 days prior to arrival                  – 50% of the tour/service cost.
  • 07 days prior to arrival                 – 75% of the tour/service cost.
  • Less than 72 hours or no show   – NO REFUNDS
Day 01: Arrive Chandigarh – Shimla (125 Kms 3-4 Hrs)

Arrive Chandigarh airport/ railway station. Pick up and travel to Shimla by surface, the former summer capital of British India and now the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Set amidst the snowcapped Shivalik mountain ranges it offers some stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Upon arrival check-in at your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Shimla.

Day 02: In Shimla – Local sightseeing  

Morning after breakfast proceed for local sightseeing tour covering Jakhoo temple, Himachal State Museum and Indian Institute of Advance Studies (IIAS). Afternoon visit to Christ Church, Scandal Point, Mall road & Ridge. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 03: Shimla – Chindi (100 Kms 3-4 Hrs)

Famous for its apple gardens and serene surroundings, Chindi is located in the Karsog valley of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by thick deodar and pine woodlands, it is one of the most beautiful villages in Karsog. This lesser traveled area can be a weekend getaway that can provide you a relaxing break and an escape from the hectic life to initiate things with a fresh mind and soul. Due to the presence of numerous beautiful and historical temples, this place can also be called as the land of temples. Some of the temples near Chindi worth mentioning are the Mamleshar Mahadev, Kamaksha Devi, Chindi Mata, and the Mahunag Temple. Visiting these temples which are adorned with beautiful wooden carvings representing various art forms will ensure that the visitor falls in love with the charm of this mysterious valley.

Day 04: Chindi – Janjehli (80 Kms 4-5 Hrs)

Janjehli (2150m) is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. It serves as the base for the Shikari Devi trek, which is further 16 kms up the mountains. Tall deodar trees, apple orchards, lush green meadows, small beautiful streams, and enchanting views add to the ethereal beauty of this amazing and quite place.

Day 05: In Janjehli – Shikari Devi excursion

Morning after breakfast full day excursion of Shikari Devi. Shikari Devi temple is about 16 Kms from Janjehli and connected by a jeepable forest road. It is situated at an altitude of 3359m. Being the highest peak of Mandi District it is also called the Crown of Mandi. Vast green pastures, captivating sunrise, and sunset, panoramic view of snow ranges make this place favorite to nature lovers. On the Shikari peak, there is a roofless temple of Shikari Devi, the Goddess of hunters and this temple is said to be established (Sathapit) by Pandavas. It is said that sage Markanday also meditated at this place for number of years. It has been observed that despite the fact that temple has no roof, no snow is spotted in temple premises during winters when the entire region around this temple is covered upto several feet by snow.

Day 06: Janjehli – Parashar (110 Kms 5-6 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast, drive to Parashar. Located at an altitude of 2730m. Prashar is known for Prashar lake, sloppy meadows, dense forest and the panoramic view of snow clad ranges of Dhauladhar. The “Prashar Lake” which has perimeter of about 300m is decorated by a floating island in it. Its crystal clear water adds to the charm of this scenic spot. Traditionally, it is believed that the lake was formed as a result of striking of a rod (Gurj) by Rishi Prashar and water came out and took shape of the lake. An ancient pagoda style temple dedicated to the Rishi Prashar, the patron God of Mandi region, stands beside the lake. The temple has been constructed by King Ban Sen in the 13-14th century with the Rishi being present in the form of a Pindi (stone). It is also said that the whole temple was built by using a single deodar tree and it took 12 years to complete the temple construction.

Day 07: Prashar – Barot (105 Kms/4 hrs)

Morning after breakfast, check-out from Hotel and drive to Barot. Barot a village, originally developed in the 1920s for Shanan Hydel Project is now a tourist location in Mandi district. The valley is blessed with thick forest of deodar and two beautiful rivers full of trout fish adding to the charm of the place. There is also a government trout breeding center at Barot along with other private centers from where fish are released into the Uhl and there is a 30 km section of the river which is excellent for angling. So you can grab your fishing rod and start angling.

Day 08: Barot – Kareri , Via Palampur (150 Kms 6-7 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast drive to Kareri. Kareri is a Gaddi tribal village. Harnala is the Meadow near Stream and Perfect to spend a night under the Stars. Stay in a guest house. Evening free for leisure.
Overnight stay at homestay / Guesthouse.

Day 09: Kareri – Paragpur (90 Kms 3-4 Hrs)

Lying at an altitude of 2000 ft. in the Kangra Valley, Himachal Pradesh – Pragpur is among the picturesque destinations. The Kangra Valley, where Heritage Village Paragpuris located is panoramic and replete with history. It is the home of the famous Kangra school of painting and probably the world’s – most certainly India’s – oldest ruling lineage comes from here. The area of Pragpur was part of the Principality of Jaswan whose chief, in the late 16th or early 17th Century charged a band of learned men, led by a Kuthiala Sood, to find a suitable place to commemorate Princess ‘Prag’ of his royal lineage.
Heritage Village Pragpur is ideal for Village land nature Tourism and is being promoted as an example of community involvement in tourism. The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage jointly with the government of Himachal Pradesh is developing and preserving Heritage Village Pragpur.

Arrive Garli & check-in at the hotel. Afternoon visit Garli village with a walking tour exploring the elegant Havelis, mansions, and buildings. Garli, is a sister village of Pragpur, located around 4 kilometers away. It is older in history than Paragpur, and is also a notified heritage village. The wealth of the village can be seen in the grand but now deserted buildings that adorn the streets of Garli. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: Pragpur – Amritsar (180 Kms 3-4 Hrs)

In the morning after Breakfast drive from Pragpur to Amritsar. On arrival check-in at the hotel.

Day 11: In Amritsar (Local sightseeing)

Early morning proceed for a visit to Golden temple. Shining in the morning light, the gilded splendor of its paneling and big dome and small minarets, this temple is a fairy world palace to the devotees of the Sikh faith. Continue to visit the Jallianwala Bagh – the historic site where hundreds of innocent Indian men, women and children were massacred by British General Michael Dyer on April 13, 1919. A memorial and Garden are created here as a monument. Afternoon proceed to Wagah border for flag down ceremony. Evening return back to Amritsar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Drop Amritsar station/ airport

Morning in time departure transfer and drop to Railway station or airport for onward journey.
