Arrive Amritsar. Afternoon proceeds to Wagah border for flag down ceremony. The Wagah Border Retreat ceremony is no less spellbinding than a theatrical play. Soldiers march in sync and bring down the national flag ritualistically. Evening visit Golden Temple, with its magnificent beauty, the iconic history of the Golden Temple dates back to 400 years. It is the most significant shrine in Sikhism. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast visit Golden temple (do not miss the langar – community kitchen meal), Jallianwala Bagh, a historic garden and a memorial, It was built in the memory of those people who died on 13th April 1919 in the bagh. Also visit Durgayana temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, the Durgiana Temple or as it is popularly known as the Lakshmi Narayan temple is among the most popular places to visit in Amritsar. Later depart from Amritsar to Dalhousie by surface. On arrival check in at hotel. The place is named after the British governor General of the 19th century, Lord Dalhousie. Morning after breakfast proceed for local sightseeing tour of Dalhousie. Dalhousie has charming colonial architecture, including some beautiful churches. Visit Punjpula, this is one of the beautiful places to visit in Dalhousie. Located approximately at a distance of 3 km from Dalhousie. It is a mother stream that flows through various parts of Dalhousie, feeding water to several other water bodies. Situated just 01 km away from Dalhousie is Subhash Baoli, enveloped by tall towering pine trees, this is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Dalhousie. It is extremely famous for its appealing vistas. St. Francis Church is draped by the branches of deodar trees. One can see some of the finest examples of glass and stonework in the interior of the church. Each and every wall of the church speaks and narrates about its colourful history. The structure of the church is more than 100 years old; still it looks as fresh as it was built yesterday. Known as the prominent monument of Dalhousie, the St. Francis Church was constructed in the year 1894 by the Army and Civil Officers and civilians. Since then the church has been maintained and regulated by the Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar. The church is built in the typical British architecture and bears resemblance to many famous churches of England. St. John's Church is one of the most intriguing places to visit in Dalhousie. It is an age-old church with immense historical significance because it was established when the British ruled. It was built by the Protestant Missionaries amidst a pictorial landscape. This added to the immaculate beauty of the church. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Morning after breakfast, you will proceed for a full day tour of Khajjiar & Chamba. Khajjiar, often called India's Switzerland has the exquisite glade of circumference of about 5 km. along its fringes. Thick forests of deodar climb the slopes and the snow-line rests above these woods. After visiting Khajjiar drive to Chamba town. As a former princely State, it is one of the oldest in the surrounding mountains and dates back to the sixth century. Visit Laxmi Narayan Temple, This Temple is one of the oldest and largest temple in Chamba, which was built in around 11th century by Raja Sahil Verma. The complex of Lakshmi Narayan temple has around six temples in total, all dedicated to either Lord Shiva or Lord Vishnu. The main idol of Lord Vishnu is made up of rare marble, which used to be found in the mountains of Vindhyas. Bhuri Singh Museum is house of more than 8,500 antique pieces, it features costumes, arms, coins, royal jewellery, Basohli painting, rare Sharda script, carved doors, copper plate grants, memorial stones, musical instruments, frescoes, Guler-Kangra paintings and many more. The Chamba Chaugan is the heart and hub center of all activity in Chamba. Initially the five Chaugans were a single patch of meadow. In the 1890 the leveling of chaugan was done. It become a public promenade and Cricket ground for the British. Local people including men, women and children can be seen promenading in the chaugan till late night. Evening return back to Dalhousie. Overnight at Hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceed from Dalhousie to Dharamshala by surface. Dharamshala also known as little Lhasa, has been the seat of his Holiness, the Dalai Lama, the leader of the Tibetans, since 1960. Afternoon leave for sightseeing covering McLeod Ganj and around. Visit The Namgyal Monastery. This is the largest Tibetan Temple that is located outside of the country of Tibet. However, more importantly, this is the home of the great Dalai Lama and over 200 monks practicing Buddhism in its purest form. Bhagsu Nag Shiva Temple and water fall is one of the most famous place to visit in Dharamshala because of its incredible serenity and scenic beauty. You must pay a visit to the Kalachakra Temple, whose name translates to the “Wheel of Time.” The temple is built as a tribute to the Buddha and contains murals and paintings of Avalokitesvara, of whom the Dalai Lama is believed to be an incarnation. Visit St. John Church in the wilderness, which is tucked amidst the the lush green trails of deodar. The church exhibits the age-old architectural style of Gothics and owns a remarkable feature which is the Belgian stain glassed windows. This place is just apt if you are looking for a quiet place, where one can delve in a session of rediscoveries. Also visit Naddi village famous for its natural beauty and mountain views along with Dal Lake. It is a pristine body of water that is fringed with coniferous deodar trees. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Dharamshala. Drive past Tea Gardens an inescapable part. Imagine strolling through the lush green tea estates, which are packed with the soothing aroma of fresh tea leaves! Visit HPCA Cricket Stadium. This picturesque stadium is snuggled amidst the greens of the Himalayan range, and its lure is beyond one's imagination. Visit War Memorial and witness the war tanks and also read out loud the names of valiant soldiers who fought for the fame of the land. From here you can also wander in the dense pine forest of the quarter, as it has hidden routes to them. The Norbulingka Institute in Dharamshala is a true testimony to the great influence of Tibetan life and culture in India. It is an authentic representation of Tibetan art and craft, way of life, food, religion and culture. There is also a Tibetan temple located on the premises which is one of the most significant places to visit in Dharamshala if you are looking for a surreal spiritual experience. Kangra Art Museum This is one of the museums which have paintings from the Kangra School, Chamba rural embroideries along with various traditional photos and costumes from the earthquake which shattered the place in 1905. Overnight at hotel.
The morning after breakfast departs from Dharamshala to Pathankot. On arrival drop at Pathankot railway station for the onward journey.
