With us you hike the Dhauladhar Range of outer Himalayas in the Kangra region of Himachal Pradesh to some of the most beautiful villages, spots, lakes, forests and views of these majestic mountains. Also get the chance to meet the local Gaddi Tribe (Shepherd community) who maintain and use these ancient trails in the vertical landscape.

What kind of physical fitness is required to do this Trek? |
These hikes are considered as easy to moderate with a mix of steep and gradual ascent, but it does require stamina to reach it. But for that, you need to prepare yourself. For this, you can every day start jogging and cycling. Take the stairs which will help you to keep fit. Start with a brisk 30 mins walk daily. |
Is a First Aid kit advisable? |
You must carry a first aid kit with you. Sometimes you could have symptoms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) also which includes a headache, nausea and vomiting. During your trek, our team will carry a first aid kit and fully equipped oxygen cans for such situations. Drinking water is very essential. |
What clothing or equipment do we need to carry from our side? |
For your trek there are few essential things which you need to carry.
- Identity Proof: Passport or any other valid ID Proof.
- Feet: Proper trekking shoes – which are comfortable and tough, yet those are flexible and have good ankle support. Also, see that they are water resistant + Trekking socks and one pair of sandals.
- Backpack (60 litres): You will also need a good backpack with sturdy straps and supporting frame. Rain cover for your backpack is a must with sturdy straps.
- Clothing: Two trek pants in case you first pant get wet. Wear one pair and carry the other pair with you. Do not carry jeans. Track pants are ideal. Three warm layers: You will be trekking at a high altitude so it is very important that you have proper clothes for the climatic conditions. Waterproof jacket, Poncho and Fleece jacket.
- Others: Shade Hat, Sun block, Lip Balm, one pair of Sunglasses, one pair of Warm gloves and one pair of waterproof gloves.

Arrival at Dharamshala airport. Your guide will meet you at the airport and assist you.
Transfer to the homestay.
On arrival you will be greeted with traditional welcome by the family followed by check in and lunch.
Free time to relax or you can always go for a local visit of McLeod Ganj / Dharamshala with your guide.
Dinner with the family.
Overnight at McLeod Ganj.
After breakfast in the morning drive to Salli Village.
Arrive Salli Village and enjoy a cup of tea in the local market before proceeding for the lunch with a local family.
Trek starts from Salli village with improvised bridge over small stream (small tributary river). Trek trail is all the way along the river till the Chandrala Dhaar. Trek till Chandrala is gradual uphill and considered as easy trekking.
Overnight at Chandrala.
After breakfast, we start walk towards Kareri Lake. Trail goes through mixed forests of oak, rhododendron and pine along with some gradual hikes. Arrive Kareri Lake and enjoy the evening on the banks of Lake. Overnight camping close to Kareri Lake.
(Further to orders of Honourable Government of Himachal Pradesh, lakeside camping is not allowed. Hence the tents will be pitched around 200m from the lake at a suitable and location).
Morning breakfast at camp site and some free time at the lakeside. Start downhill towards Kareri Village. Trail goes through mixed forests of oak, rhododendron and pine. First few km are gradual descend besides a stream. At the end the trail is a steep descend. Arrive Kareri village. Dinner and overnight at Kareri Village.
After breakfast a levelled walk from Kareri village takes us to Khari Behi. From Khari Behi it is a steep downhill walk for about an hour to Rawa village, situated on the bank of a small river. Enjoy a riverside lunch break. From Rawa village it is a steep ascent for another 02 hours to Balh village. Camp near a small stream close to the village.
After breakfast, we continue our trek by crossing over a small bridge then ascending through rhododendron and pine forests for approx. 2 hours. First 2km is a steep ascent but there is a gradual ascent after Gallu Devi Temple. The last 1 km is again a steep ascent through the forest. Triund is a flat meadow on top of a ridge. From here panoramic view of Dhauladhar range on one side and Kangra valley on other is a memorable sight.
Morning breakfast at hotel and later transfer to airport for boarding flight to your onward destination with amazing memories.
