This tour covers one of the most difficult yet mesmerizing areas of Himachal Pradesh. In this tour, you will be covering remote areas of Kinnaur, Lahul and Spiti Valley. It is an area known for perpetual snow peaks and gigantic mountain ranges that reach to astounding heights. The altitude of this region ranges from 4500 meters to 7000 meters above mean sea level. Along with its natural beauty, these areas are blessed with amazing architectural monuments varying from temples, forts, and palaces to local houses which are built in traditional style using local materials. From green vegetation on one side to barren, rugged landscapes on another side, one gets to experience all. Arrive Chandigarh airport and transfer to Narkanda. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceed towards Sarahan. The Gods were generous when they have gave Sarahan (2165m) its settings. located halfway up a high mountain side, the road to Sarahan winds past flowering Pine trees that give way to stately Oaks. Dozens of small streams rush past. The fields and orchards that surround the small villages with their slate roofed houses, compose pictures of pastoral perfection. Above Sarahan, a many deodar trees rides the slopes and higher still, encircling the Bashal peak, are trees of smooth birch and variety of wild flowers and rare medicinal herbs. This sparsely populated tract is steeped in ancient legends and here is the famous Bhimakali temple regarded as one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peeths. The temple’s unusual architecture and wealth of carvings have made it a resplendent example of what is loosely called the Indo-Tibetan style. Deep down the alley flows the river Sutlej and across lies the snow-clad Shrikhand peak. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceed towards Rakcham. A picturesque small village located between Sangla and Chitkul and is also the second-last village before the Tibet border. Pronounced as "Rakshyam" by the locals, the Rakcham village is blessed with many beautiful gardens, snow-clad mountain ranges, and lush green trees. The natural sights of this place are so amazing that you can't resist visiting here. Overnight at hotel
Morning after breakfast proceed towards Chitkul Village for full day excursion. Chitkul is the last village on the old Indo-Tibetan trade route. Chitkul is like a doorway to the exquisite landscape of breathtaking beauty and a serene environment. Surrounded by mountains, orchids, huge rocks, meadows, jungles, rivers, and grasslands, Chitkul has a unique identity among other hill stations. Visit the temple of local goddess Mathi said to have been constructed about 500 years ago. Latrer visit Bering Nag Temple, considered as one of the most important temples for Hindu devotees, Bering Nag Temple is an architectural wonder. This temple houses a sacred statue of Lord Jagas. Also visit Kamru Fort to have a glimpse into the artistic legacy of this region, The fort has been converted into a temple and it is dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya Devi. Return back to Rakcham. Morning after breakfast proceed towards Nako enroute visiting Labrang Fort. Situated at a dizzy height in Labrang Village, the strategically built fort is one of the tallest structures in whole Kinnaur. Resting on a 25 feet stone base the structure is 8 stories high but only 5 stories are in good shape. Continue drive towards Nako. Nako village is situated on the Indo-Tibetan border, 360 m above sea level in the Himalayan range of Kinnaur District. As Nako lies really close to the Tibetan border, visitors need to have an Inner Line permit to visit and stay in any part of this secluded village. Exploring this beautiful village and listening to the stories and experiences of the villagers will take you back in time. The hidden gems of Nako Village and its untouched natural beauty will make you fall in love with this place. Overnight at hotel.
Morning take a walk around Nako Lake, it is famous for its splendid location with the snow-capped Himalayas all around. The lake is surrounded by 4 Tibetan Temples and 4 caves, which are believed to be the meditation spot for saint Padmasambhava. Breakfast at hotel and proceed to visit Nako Monastery, this is one of the most visited Buddhist monasteries; The Monastery holds a lot of Buddhist paintings and ancient murals dating way back to the 11th Century. The unique architectural style of the Nako monastery comprises 4 Buddhist temples along with a few other buildings within the Monastery complex. Later drive towards Kaza enroute visiting Tabo and Dhankar villages. Tabo is a tiny town located on the banks of Spiti River (10,760 feet) and is surrounded by scree slopes and snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Known for its serene and tranquil beauty. The most famous attractions in Tabo include a 1000-year-old monastery, which is considered as one of the holiest by the Dalai Lama himself. Dhankar village is surrounded by Dhankar Lake. This lake is a blissful and breath-taking retreat. If you want to rejuvenate your soul and mind — away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the place to be. At a short distance from the lake is the Dhankar Monastery. Dhankar Monastery is also known as Dankhar, Drangkhar, or Dhangkar Gompa. The monastery is perched at a surprising angle on a cliff edge and gives a panoramic view of the entire valley. Continue drive towards Kaza. Arrive Kaza. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceed for full day excursion to visit remote villages of Hikkim, Langza and Komic. A 40 minute uphill drive from Kaza for 14 Km and one will reach the village of Hikkim. This places houses the highest post office in the world. The village of Hikkim is situated at a towering altitude of around 14,400 feet above sea level. Langza village is located at an elevation of 440 metres and is one of the most fascinating places to see in Spiti Valley. This is a picturesque village which offers a number of tourist attractions in the form of prehistoric buildings and ancient monasteries. Continue towards Komic Village (15027 feet) which is world’s highest connected village by motorable road. Back to Kaza.
Morning after breakfast proceed for full day excursion to visit Key Monastery and Kibber Village. While Himachal Pradesh is home to a dozen different monasteries, this spectacular place is not just the biggest, but also the oldest one around. A must-visit tourist place in Spiti Valleythe Key Gompa is encircled by picturesque mountains and soothing valleys. A wonderful example of monastic architecture and is decorated with beautiful paintings, murals, manuscripts, and wind instruments. Continue towards Kibber. To call Kibber beautiful would be putting it lightly – arid landscape, rocky mountains, meadows covered in vibrant wildflowers, and all this paired with pristine pollution-free environment. Back to Kaza. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast drive towards Chandratal. You will pass through Chicham bridge. The bridge is at a staggering height of 13596 ft and connects the two villages named Chicham and Kibber. This bridge cuts down the journey from Kibber to Losar by 40 km. Continue with drive and take a break at Losar village. This village is very peaceful, soothing, and absolutely delightful. Your visit to Lahaul and Spiti Valley is incomplete if you have not visited this heaven like place, situated near the confluence of Losar and Peeno streams. Reach Kunzum Pass, one of the most mysterious, offbeat places to visit in Spiti Valley, the Kunzum Pass is a gateway to the gorgeous Spiti via Kullu and Lahul. Treat your photography loving soul as you click away the jaw dropping vistas around. Take in the panoramic view featuring majestic Bara Shigri Glacier covered with pristine silvery snow, the barren mountains of Chandrabhange range, the azure waters of Spiti river, and the rugged hills of Spiti Valley. Arrive Chandratal Lake. Perched at a staggering altitude of 4200 meters above sea level, you have to witness the unparalleled beauty of Chandratal to believe it. A sanctuary from the lightning-fast city life, this lake is slowly becoming one of the most attractive tourist places in Spiti valley. With the spellbinding backdrop of majestic mountains and meadows covered with gorgeous wildflowers, the lake is the perfect place to click Instagram worthy pictures. Overnight at camps.
Morning after breakfast proceed towards Manali. Nestled in the mighty Himalayas, Manali has an abundance of spectacular valleys filled with forests of oak, fir, deodar and pine. It is a full package of nature, food, adventure sports and ancient heritages. Splashing river Beas flows proudly amidst the valley. Evening free for your own activities. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceed towards Naggar to visit Naggar Castle. The Naggar Castle is a magnificent historical structure. The castle was built by Raja Sidhi Singh in 1460 AD in an impressive combination of European and Himalayan architecture. The castle has traditional architecture called Kathkooni, which uses a combination of stones and wooden beams. Later drive towards Old Manali to visit Hadimba Devi Temple. Located amidst the snow-covered hills of Manali, the Hadimba Temple is a unique shrine dedicated to Hidimba Devi, who was the wife of Bhima and mother of Ghatothkach. Surrounded by gorgeous cedar forests, this beautiful shrine is built on a rock which is believed to be in the image of goddess Hidimba herself. Locally known as Dhungari Temple, the construction style of the Hidimba Devi temple is entirely different from that of any of the other temples, with its wooden doorways, walls, and cone-shaped roof. This temple is a fitting dedication to its presiding deity Hadimba. Overnight at hotel.
Morning after breakfast as per time schedule transfer to Chandigarh.
