Chamba town in the northwest corner of Himachal Pradesh is distinctive and unique in terms of vast geography and history, culture, and tradition. Its unique location and the sample of other aspects beguile the travelers visiting the Chamba town. The best deal in town is Bhuri Singh Museum. This museum has a remarkable collection of Pahari miniature paintings from the Chamba, Basholi, Kangra, and Guler schools, including other arts such as intriguing copper-plate inscriptions, the embroidered Chamba rumals (handkerchiefs), coins, hill jewelry, traditional and royal costumes musical instruments, and various decorative objects is another attraction of the place. The museum remains open from 10 AM to 5 PM throughout the year except on Monday and other gazetted holidays.
The architectural history is an imposing beauty of Chamba city with the number of temples explaining its rich historical past. On top of the list is the 10th-century Lakshmi-Narayan Temple Complex. The temple complex is known to be well preserved since its birth. There is another temple called Brajeshwari Temple, which has excellent carving, and the 11th century Hari Rai temple near Gandhi Gat enshrines a marvelous bronze image of Lord Vishnu in the form of Chaturmurti. The Chamunda Devi temple on the hilltop has artistic carvings on its lintel, pillars, and ceiling. In addition, Sui Mata Shrine and Champavati temple are of great religious importance. Akhand Chandi palace and Rang Mahal are some of the prime places to be visited in Chamba. Also worth visiting is the town’s only Christian church ‘The Church of Scotland’.

Saho: Well-known for the Lord Shiva temple Chandrashekar, Saho is a tiny remote village positioned 20 km from Chamba town and one of the heritage villages of Himachal Pradesh. Saho lies on the banks of river Sal and sounds like an interesting place to visit where it is still a lot to be explored.
Jumhar: Possessing an indifferent climate and coverage of dense forests of deodar trees, Jumhar is located 22 km from Chamba city and is surrounded by apple gardens. Jumhar is a remote and unexplored spot where one can take a deep breath of fresh-born air in the orchards. You can also search for peace near the small Nag temple dedicated to the snake god.

Devi Kothi: Devi Kothi ( 11 km from Bairagarh) is one of the remotest villages in the Chaurah valley of Chamba and is known for its Devi Kothi temple. The tiny temple is a grand welcome to visitors. A complete old wooden structure of medieval Chamba has wood carvings and wall paintings inside the temple, a great civilization of antiquity shown among the walls of Devi Kothi. A temple certainly of Mughal influence made by Raja Umed Singh in 1754, later dedicated to Goddess Durga Devi depicts the wall paintings of her exploits and themes of Bhagavata Purana.

Sach Pass: Perched at an altitude of 4420m is Sach Pass lying on the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. It is considered one of the hardest treks among all other mountain passes of Himachal. Sach pass is the Gateway to Pangi Valley. The curvy narrow roads, numerous water crossings, striking landscapes, and the indifferent climatic conditions encountered on this pass are mesmerizing in spite of being treacherous. Pass is open for vehicular traffic from mid-June to September, it remained closed due to heavy snowfall at other times of the year.
Killar: It is a charming hamlet which is connected by road via Sach Pass. Killar is the sub-division headquarter of the Pangi Valley
Sural Bhatori: (Bhatori is a tribe of Upper Himalaya who worship Lord Budha). Sural Bhatori is a very beautiful valley located at an elevation of 10,000 feet above the mean sea level and is the last village in the valley. One km from Sural Bhatori is a beautiful waterfall and a trek also leads towards Zanskar. The valley is known as a trekker’s paradise. The gompa of Sural Bhatori is surrounded by Betula (Bhojpatra) patch and the valley is dominated by a dense patch of bhojpatra forest on one side. The valley is also famous for its beautiful flora.

Khajjiar: Engulfed by deodars and the lake in the middle, Khajjiar due to its topographical resemblance is rightly called mini Switzerland. You can best explore this place on foot and hence walking is the best way to get around. Khajjiar nestled in the small plateau, covered with weeds, surrounded by thick forests and meadows with a small stream lake founds an amazingly terrific beauty at 2000 m above sea level, giving the western Himalayan view.
Overnight at the hotel in Khajjiar.
The morning after breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed for a full-day tour of Khajjiar & Dalhousie. The best places that you can visit without starving are the villages of Khajjiar- Rota, Ladi, etc. where one gets familiar with the culture of the tribes, their homes, lifestyle, food, etc. Khajjiar with its vast green meadows seems so beautiful in its own vast way posing a different view in each season. After visiting Khajjiar drive to Dalhousie town.
Dalhousie: Dalhousie is one of the most popular tourist spots in North India especially, among home and foreign tourists. The greatest activity in Dalhousie is on and around the three level Malls which were laid in the early. These roads and the steeper by-lanes which connect them to the bus stand are still the arteries of the town. The Malls around Moti Tibba and Potreyn hills are the most popular among the tourists as the two are level and most of the business activity and hotels are around them. Gandhi Chowk, Upper bazaar. Subhash Chowk, Catholic Church of St. Frances, Sadar bazaar, and the Convent founded by an Order of Belgium nuns and their Sacred Heart School are in these two malls. Dalhousie’s third and highest mall was built around the upper Bakrota hill nearly 1000 feet above the G.P.O. (Gandhi Chowk).
